One factor is reliability and stability of the TLD you choose for a long-term identity. E.g. plenty of the new gTLDs have had pretty bad price jumps, some TLDs don't have as good support and technical backing. .com/.org/... and large country-TLDs tend be better in those regards.
My unnamed system has a folder for each post with a file per received webmention. Which works for storage, but effective processing (e.g. handling updates, deduplication, ...) would benefit from a database, which sounds like what you are doing for posts with SQLite already
The blue building with the pink pipe is a hydrodynamics lab of TU Berlin, where they test ship designs and things like that.
